My role in this project

I designed this online store in Figma based on my client's needs, typography, colors, custom features, etc. Once the design was finished, I used the CMS Wordpress and Elementor PRO to build and style it, I also used CSS to give it a custom style that I couldn't achieve with the theme's own settings, then using the Woocommerce plugin I put the online store into operation by adding and optimizing products for SEO, I also optimized the content of the pillar pages for search engines and the site assets for accelerated loading, it currently ranks #1 - #5 in search results related to market keywords.

In addition to making the necessary DNS configurations to connect the previously purchased domain with the Hosting that was not from the same provider, I was in charge of creating the corporate emails and the necessary configurations to make the connection with all the company's devices.

Once the project was completed, I also participated in the collection and analysis of Google Analytics and WooCommerce data for marketing strategies. I have also worked frequently with the owner of the company to carry out redesigns, updates and optimizations of content, adding new features and maintenance.

Education

Since I started in the world of web development I have relied on official documentation, online courses, YouTube and learning platforms. All the knowledge I acquired was 100% self-taught and the experience I accumulated is 100% practical, creating websites I learned to create websites.

After reading and practicing and continuing reading and continuing practicing, I learned to use different tools and technologies, I learned to design, prototype, build and optimize websites. I did all this in my free time because I always had a job to be responsible for.

The Beginning of It All

While studying for my diversified degree, I also developed an interest in computing and the internet. By October of that year, I earned a CCNA Cisco certification.

My First Step into Web Development

Driven by my interest in programming and a friend’s recommendation, I decided to pursue a path in web development. That’s when I discovered WordPress and page builder plugins like Elementor and Divi.

Taking It Seriously

The world of web development captivated me, and I dedicated all my free time to learning more about it and improving my skills. Between 2021 and this year, I developed new abilities. By then, I could already create basic websites from scratch, handle domain setup, hosting, and DNS management.

No Turning Back

At this point, I was completely in love with web development. I spent much of my free time continuing to learn. From 2022 to 2023, I mastered WordPress and my favorite builder, Elementor PRO. I also learned a lot about CDNs, asset optimization, SEO, and Google services like Search Console, Analytics, AdSense, and Tag Manager. I started using Figma and got into the basics of user experience design, graphic design, and web design.

Coding Everything

In January 2024, I set a main goal for myself: to master the fundamental technologies of web development beyond WordPress. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I was already somewhat familiar with these technologies since I’d used them in some projects, CSS for customizing WordPress themes, JavaScript for adding custom functions, and HTML wasn’t much of a challenge thanks to my experience using DevTools.

I spent a lot of time reading documentation on MDN, W3Schools, Google for Developers, and other platforms like Coursera, I practiced extensively with exercises to master these technologies. By late 2024, I feel I’ve gained solid skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I’ve built two complete websites entirely from code, including this portfolio, along with all the exercises that helped me refine my abilities.

Now, I’m aiming to learn React and other technologies to become a full-fledged Front-End Developer.

About me

Who am I and where do I come from?

My name, you probably already know it. I'm 23 years old and I'm a dreamer looking for my next challenge. I was born, raised and currently live in a small town called Esquipulas located in Guatemala. I started creating websites as an attempt to discover what to do with my life. At first they were super simple and to be honest, quite ugly, but as I got more and more into this world, I fell in love with it more. That's right, I started to discover what to do with my life and I hit the nail on the head, I fell in love with software development.

My current goals

Currently my main goal is to continue learning, improve my skills, move forward and create to be a better developer every day. I want to continue creating accessible, beautiful, adaptable and optimal web experiences.

And outside of code? Who am I when I'm not a developer?

When I'm not coding, learning, or testing ideas and technologies, I'm usually enjoying the wonderful mountain landscapes of my hometown, riding Enduro with my friends on my dirt-bike, or just riding through the radioactive streets of Moscow, fighting mutants and vandals for supplies and then taking refuge in the METRO.
